I didn't sew much today, but did work on the zipper a bit. First I sewed the zipper to the seam allowance. Tricky to get it in there even and get the neck opening even. You can't see the stitches very well along the edge of the zipper, but that's because I'm good!
Then I pinned to hold the fold to just past the zipper teeth and did what is called a pick stitch to hold the zipper in place. I used 1/4 inch spacing. This is a couture technique. I use the tape to have an even line to follow and also to mark the 1/4 inch marks. Easy to follow both. You can see them if you look closely. Pretty tedious, eager to see the final result.
This is what it looks like inside. The stitches will be covered by the lining.
